MCTS: Windows SharePoint Services (WSS) 3.0 - Application Development (Exam 70-541)

I am please to say that I took, and passed the MCTS: WSS Application Development exam last week! (70-541) I am so proud of myself but the amount of time I put into revision certainly paid off, I managed to get a pass mark of 973!

To get the revision in I used the following resources

  1. I copied the prep guide off the Microsoft web site, converted it to an excel spreadsheet, added an extra column and then worked on adding the content to that column
  2. Inside Windows SharePoint Services 3.0 (Pattison & Larson)  - if you work with SharePoint you should own this book, if you want to pass the exam, know this book.
  3. I was lucky enough to go on the Combined Knowledge 'SharePoint 2007 Developer' course, the courseware is spot on!
  4. I work with SharePoint as my job so I have access to be able to learn and work on anything I need to, there is a VPC you can download to from Microsoft.
  5. I read blogs on topics that I didn't understand, sometimes when someone writes a blog entry they can explain why things work the way they do better than a book, also reading comments and feedback to blog posts help develop a better understanding

If you are going for the exam I wish you the best of luck!

For now I am happy to have passed and am looking forward to the MOSS exam sometime in the very near future!
